![]() ![]() Until that's fixed, the solution/workaround is to flag them as "keep homeless". However, they also said that bit of code was written back before roommates were available outside of university dorms, and something may have changed since that broke the code. Literally minutes before I originally wrote this, Deadpooler told me that it's supposed to check and skip roommates. That causes them to vanish (from your home, they're now in their own house) without any sort of notification from the game. If MCCC's Population module is set to move homeless Sims into houses if they're available, it will move your roommates into houses because they're considered homeless. Warning: If you have MCCC, it will cause a problem with roommates as of 8.0.0. I can verify they'll scrub everything and take care of dirty dishes and garbage, but I don't know if they'll take care of the dust as I don't have that kit. Anyway, I'd recommend verifying the hidden traits have been changed to what you want, and then you can remove the Sim Info mod (which I did because it seemed to prevent the MCCC menu from showing up).Ĭheat your new roommate the aspiration reward traits so they never get tired/hungry/etc., and you'll have a 24 hour autonomous cleaning Sim. At least with pets, there seems to be a quota of quirks and if they don't have any it'll just give them some. I don't know if they must have an interest and a quirk, but it's better to err on the side of caution because I noticed with pets that you can't just take away the quirks. Give the Roommate that Archetype traits, remove any other Archetype traits (and all the other potentially annoying roommate traits), give them an inoffensive interest, and an inoffensive quirk. It also seems like Archetype has priority over Interest, which brings us to the "trait_RoommateNPC_Archetype_SuperNeat" trait. So a Sim that's Active and Loves Outdoors would spend more of their time on a computer than outside or working out if they have the "trait_RoommateNPC_Interest_Computers" hidden trait but not the "trait_RoommateNPC_Interest_Fitness" hidden trait. What I've noticed is that these roommate behavior traits affect their autonomy (and since they're not part of your household, they have full autonomy) more than their actual traits. Next use "traits.equip_trait " and "traits.remove_trait " to customize their behavior. Use the "sims.get_sim_id_by_name " command to get the SimID of your Roommate, it's a pretty long string. roommates seem to always have at least 1 archetype and 1 interest, at minimum" To quote another post from that poster: "from my experience, a sim can have up to 2 archetypes, 2 interests and 1 quirk on their own, but you can use cheats to give them as many or as few as you like, and select the specific ones you want them to have. So it looks like when a Sim becomes a Roommate, they pick up three types of hidden traits. Next we turn to the official forums, specifically this comment. ![]() Then you grab the Sim Info mod (you don't have to, it makes it easier though) so you can see their hidden traits. Presumably if your roommate was random you'll need to apply this flag after they've shown up, but before you accept them as a roommate. ![]() When that happens, it will cause your roommates to disappear without any notifications. If you do not do this and MCCC Population is set to move homeless Sims into houses, that may happen to your roommates because they're considered homeless. It may also be necessary for their household to not to be marked as Played in order for the option to flag them to be available. If they're already your roommate, the option to flag them as "keep homeless" will not be available. This must be done after you've called them back to your lot, but before you ask them to be your roommate. If you have the MCCC mod like many of us do, as of MCCC 8.0.0 you must flag them as "keep homeless". You can make your own by adding a Sim to your household via CAS, make them friends with your household, boot them out so they're homeless, then call your friend to hang out and directly ask them to move in. You can get a random one, or make your own. The normal stuff to keep a roommate happy. If you have Discover University, you can get a roommate and use cheats to turn them into a permanent live-in maid that's obsessed with cleaning.įirst, you will need a bed and a few surfaces and such. ![]()
